You may spend approximately two hours total driving; one hour from Accra to the workshop and one hour on the return journey. The drive time is also dependent on traffic conditions and weather.

How physically demanding is this tour?

This activity is easy to do. You will spend time seated at a traditional wooden handloom using your hands and feet to operate the shuttle and pedals.

Are there opportunities to shop for local crafts and souvenirs?

Yes. Authentic handwoven Kente strips, full cloths, and handmade textile accessories are available for retail purchase directly from the artisans.

What should I wear for the weaving workshop?

Wear lightweight, flexible clothing and flat shoes or sandals so you can easily manipulate the loom foot pedals.

Where is the workshop located?

What is the difference between Ashanti Kente and Ewe Kente?
