Atewa Forest Birding Tour

A bit of a drive from Accra, the Atewa Forest will reward you with some of the most beautiful forest you will ever see. This beautiful location is threatened by bauxite mining, but remains home to the black dwarf hornbill, emerald cuckoo, double-toothed barbet, and the blue-moustached bee-eater among many others.




Birding Tour to Kakum National Park

We recommend at least 2 days to ensure that you are at Ghana's premier birding site for optimal birding hours. Various ecosystems in the park support many species, including the white-throated bee-eater, African pied hornbill, red-winged warbler, blue-spotted wood dove, Vieillot's barbet, and violet-backed starling.

On an overnight expedition, you have the ability to visit the canopy walkway first in the morning!




Birding Tour to the Keta Lagoon

This 2-day birding tour includes a canoe birding safari down the Avu Lagoon, and the Keta Lagoon, one of Ghana's most significant sites for marine birds. Species to be seen include the common redshank, yellow-throated longclaw, African jacana, little bee-eater, great white pelican, and the black heron which has a unique mating dance.




Marine Birding Tour to the Volta Estuary

This is a busy 2-day tour that begins with a morning of birding at the Sakumono Lagoon before continuing further east to the Songor Lagoon, one of Ghana's most signifcant marine birding sites. The second day of this tour investigates the Volta River Estuary.
