Full Day Atewa Birding, Drive to Kumasi
Early morning depart for the Atewa Forest, a Globally Significant Biodiversity Area.

Morning hike at the Bobiri forest reserve and butterfly sanctuary.
Day 4Continue to Lake Bosomtwe, Africa's largest meteorite impact lake.
EjisuPadua ride on lake with local fisherman or horseback ride on lakeside trail.
Overnight at a mid-range hotel in Ejisu.
Full Day at the Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary
Early-morning at Owabi wildlife sanctuary, Ghana's only inland Ramsar site.
Day 5Explore the wetlands, home to thriving birdlife and peaceful forest habitats.
EjisuAfter several hours of birding expedition, drive back to your hotel to refresh and relax.

Day 6Visit the nesting site of the yellow headed Picathartes, a most sought after specimen.
KakumContinue to the coastal city of Cape Coast. This will involve some driving after dark.

5:30 AM birding from the rainforest canopy walkway before it opens to the public.
Day 7Kakum is Ghana's most significant birding park, with over 266 species including
Kakum   white-breasted guinea fowl, African grey parrot, and nine species of hornbill.

Kakum National Park, Ankasa Protected Area
Enjoy a two hour trail hike on the forest floor, where you will see birds,
Day 8   utterflies and perhaps catch a glimpse of the forest's secretive mammals.
AnkasaEmbark on a long drive to Ankasa Game Reserve arriving for evening birding.

Early morning hike at Ankasa, which has Ghana's largest concentration
Day 9   of biodiversity. Focus on area around the Ankasa River and the Nini River.
AnkasaBegin our search for White-bellied, Shining-Blue, and Blue-breasted Kingfishers.
Overnight at a bed & breakfast facility in the forest.
Amansuri Wetlands, Nzulezu Stilt Village, Fort Apollonia, Elmina
Early morning canoe ride along the Amansuri River, Ghana largest swamp forest.
Day 10Many species, including Kingfishers, are found in this unique environment.
ElminaVisit Fort Apollonia, and continue drive to Elmina stopping at a fishing village.
3¾ hoursOvernight at a 3-star beach resort in Elmina.
Cape Coast Castle, Winneba, Densu River, Airport Drop - Off
DepartureTour the U.N. World Heritage Site and former slave dungeon of Cape Coast castle.
Day 11Drive back to Accra stopping at the Winneba lagoon and Densu Delta
   which offer sites of migratory birds and waterfowl. Continue to the airport.
