Frequently Asked Questions

How physically demanding is this tour?

This tour can be customized from light to moderately demanding. You can opt for a relaxed vehicle game drive or add active hiking and steep rock scrambling up ancient rock formations.

What kind of clothing and footwear should I pack for a safari?

Wear breathable neutral clothing, a sun hat, and sturdy closed-toe walking shoes or hiking boots with strong traction for climbing rocks.

Will we see wild animals roaming freely during the tour?

Yes. Baboons, antelopes, and bird species range freely, while royal pythons, ostriches and zebras are maintained in expansive sanctuary enclosures.

How much time will we spend driving on this itinerary?

Driving time is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours each way from Accra, depending on morning traffic conditions.

Are your tours accessible for travelers with limited mobility?

Yes. Guests who prefer not to hike can enjoy a full wildlife safari experience strictly by vehicle without rock climbing.

Are the bat caves safe and accessible to visit?

Yes. Guided walks take you directly into the historic ancestral caves where large fruit bat colonies roost. Expect dark interiors and uneven terrain.

Is a park ranger or local guide provided?

Yes. An official reserve ranger accompanies your group to lead the wildlife tracks, ensure visitor safety, and explain cave heritage.

Can I take photos and videos during the tour?

Yes! Photography is permitted and encouraged throughout the reserve, caves, and scenic lookout points.

What happens if the weather affects the tour?

Ghana's weather often clears up quickly. If it is raining at your scheduled pickup time but conditions are safe, the tour will proceed. We may adjust the order of stops or delay the start slightly while the weather clears to ensure you get the full experience. Please be ready for pickup unless our team contacts you directly. If weather conditions are severe or unsafe to run the tour at all, we will cancel the trip and work closely with you to reschedule your tour for another agreeable date. If it rains while at the Park, rock scrambling is adjusted for safety, and activities shift toward vehicle-based game viewing and covered heritage areas.

What vehicle types do you use for tours?

We use clean, air-conditioned sedans, SUVs, or mini-buses suited for highway transfers and park roads.

How close can we get to the baboons?

Baboons are accustomed to human presence near park gates, but for safety reasons, feeding, touching, or approaching them too closely is prohibited.

What should I bring for the cave and rock climb?

Pack a small backpack with drinking water, sunblock, insect repellent, closed-toe trail shoes, and a small torch for dark cave passages.

What are the standard pick-up and drop-off times?

Tours typically pick up at 7:00 AM to reach the reserve early when animals are most active, returning to Accra around 1:00 PM.

Can the hiking intensity be customized?

Yes. Your guide tailors trail selections on site based on your personal fitness goals and preferences.

Are meals or snacks included during this nature excursion?

No. Your guide will provide you with bottled water only. Lunch arrangements can be added at local spots after the reserve visit (extra cost). Equally, your guide can take you to a local spot where you pay for your own lunch.
