Frequently Asked Questions

Can you cater for food allergies and special dietary needs?

Yes. All ingredients and protein choices can be customized to accommodate allergies, halal preferences, gluten sensitivities, or personal dietary requirements.

Are vegetarian/vegan meals available?

Yes. Traditional West African dishes like Jollof, Waakye, Red Red, and various soups can easily be prepared using entirely plant-based ingredients without sacrificing authentic flavors.

What meal options are available?

You select signature dishes from options like Jollof Rice, Waakye, Fufu, or Banku with various soups, followed by a traditional Abele Walls frozen dessert.

Is the tap water safe to drink in Ghana?

Tap water is not recommended for direct drinking. We use purified bottled or sachet water for all cooking, drinking, and food preparation during the workshop.

Is bargaining expected in local markets?

Yes. Polite bargaining is part of the culture when shopping for fresh ingredients in local markets, and your host will guide you through the process.

What are the standard meet-up times?

You will meet directly with your guide at CLUB 69 in Osu at 10:30 AM before starting the market tour or cooking session. Alternatively, we can arrange for hotel pickup at 10:00 AM and drop you off after the cooking session.

How large are your tour groups?

We keep class sizes small and intimate so every participant receives personalized, hands-on instruction from the chef.

Can I take photos and videos during the tour?

Yes. You are welcome to capture photos and videos in the kitchen and during the market walk, though asking stallholders before filming in markets is appreciated.

How physically demanding is this tour?

This activity requires minimal physical effort. It involves light walking during the market tour and standing in the kitchen while preparing food.

Do you provide tours for single travelers?

Yes. Solo travelers can readily join scheduled cooking classes or book a private solo session.

What is the proper way to eat traditional dishes?

Many traditional Ghanaian dishes, such as Fufu and Banku, are eaten using your right hand. Your chef will gladly demonstrate the traditional eating etiquette before you dine.

Should I take off my shoes in a local home?

It depends on the household. Upon entering the home kitchen, ask your host or follow their guidance regarding footwear.

Is Ghana safe for tourists?

Yes. Ghana is widely known as one of the safest and most welcoming destinations in West Africa for travelers.

Is a deposit required to confirm my booking?

Yes. A deposit secures your spot in the kitchen and allows the team to purchase fresh market ingredients in advance.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Upon cancellation, Easy Track Ghana will refund recoverable funds received, less a cancellation fee of up to 8.5% of the quoted tour fare. Unrecoverable costs may include accommodation deposits, transportation reservations, domestic flights, or other third-party services. Unrecoverable costs may be significant if the cancellation notice is received close to the tour date.
