2 days |
Stop at Aburi botanical gardens or the wildlife preserve at Shai Hills, and a traditional bead factory on your way to spend a weekend on the banks of the Volta River. Walk across Ghana's only steel arch bridge. Ride the river in a canoe with a local fisherman or in a motorboat to the Akosombo Dam. OR Travel along the coast to visit resorts where you look for marine turtles or participate in water sports or cultural river and beach activities. Birding is incredible, with the Xavi bird sanctuary, the Songor Lagoon and the Keta Lagoon. This coastal area is much less visited than the Western Coast. |
